HONOLULU (Jan. 31, 2012) – The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) will hold a second round of community meetings to inform its beneficiaries of the latest updates on the Kakaʻako land settlement proposal.
The tentative land deal proposed by Governor Abercrombie would give OHA 30 acres of property in Kakaʻako valued at an estimated $200 million.
If approved by the legislature, this agreement will finally resolve claims relating to OHA’s share of public land trust revenues from November 7, 1978 to June 30, 2012.
At the February community meetings, OHA will provide a status update on the Kakaʻako land settlement proposal. The public is invited to attend any of the eleven informational meetings that will be held in communities statewide.
