“For over 1,000 years the Hawaiian People produced enough food to support an estimated population of one million,” according to the film. “Today, 85 percent of their food is imported. And if current trends continue, Hawaii’s last agricultural lands will be gone by 2040.”

The film will be released on DVD early next year.

Senate Spotlight

The Senate Committee on Education held a hearing for the consideration and confirmation of several Gubernatorial Nominees to the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board, including: Louise Cayetano, Justin Mew, and Felicia Villalobos. Following testimony, the committee recommended to advise and consent to the nominations.
