You gonna LOVE this!

Do you have clients that need to get volunteer hours in and need to learn valuable job skills? The Hawaiian Hope Internet Cafe is now open in Waianae and we are looking for volunteers. NOT the gambling kine place! This is the legitimate kind of internet cafe where kids do homework, people look for jobs online and use computers to get work done.

Hawaiian Hope Internet CafeHawaiian Hope  is a technology based non profit org. Our proof of concept Internet Cafe in Honolulu won awards and served thousands of people, We are now open in Waianae ! Other projects we have include giving away thousands of computers to low income families and providing all of the IT services for other non profit orgs.

Come and get involved with one of the coolest projects you will find.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for People (adults, kids and organization groups) that can volunteer a few hours a day or week. Ideally we are looking for people that we can put on a regular schedule. You do not have to have a business background as we will train you, and you can put this on your resume as on the job training. Having a good knowledge of computers will be useful. You must be willing to learn and have a personality that is inviting and happy.

What you will do:

Learn all aspects of running a business.
Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Help people that have never used a computer before, and yes there are lots of them !
Help create email accounts, create online accounts, sign up for various services
Help kids with homework.
Help adults fill out job applications.
Answer questions about typing documents, copying files to thumb drives, etc.
Manage the front counter, cash register & snack bar.
Rotate Inventory in the snack bar, restock supplies.
Schedule the classrooms, events and others orgs using the facility.
Learn basic tech support and troubleshooting of computers.
Keep the facility clean
Other items as needed.

What we have:
Space for 50 computers set up in 2 rooms.
Overhead sound system and projector.
Snack bar
Beach View (sorta)
A clean fresh facility
Operating Hours from 8 am till 8 pm.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

1) HONOKAI HALE TO KAPOLEI Lane closure on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between Laaloa Street and Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor Off-Ramp (Exit 1A) of the H-1 Freeway on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for soil testing.

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Lane closures on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and Waiawa Road on Sunday night, May 17, through Friday morning, May 22, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. 3) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction on Sunday night, May 17, through Friday morning, May 22, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the rail project. 4) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Single lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and Kahualii Street on Sunday, May 17, through Friday morning, May 22, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. 5) WAIANAE Shoulder closure on Farrington Highway in both directions between Lualualei Homestead Road and Kaupuni Street on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., daily, for traffic signal improvements.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) KAHALA Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Koko Head Avenue Off-Ramp (Exit 26A) and Ainakoa Avenue on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for landscaping.

2) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK) Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A) on Monday, May 18, through Friday morning, May 22, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly. Three center lanes will be closed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ·        Four center lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Please pay attention to traffic control signs as the traffic will be routed around the closure. Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.

3) PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for deck widening. One right lane closed Monday through Thursday. Two right lanes closed on Friday For more information, visit the project website at www.pmcontraflow.com or call the project hotline at (808) 945-1144.
