OAHU LANE CLOSURES FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUG. 7 – AUG. 9

PLEASE NOTE: Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.   All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork. For more information, please visit the project website for The Rail at http://www.honolulutransit.org/.

2) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Three left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 10. All ramps will remain open. Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.  Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

3) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Full closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. — H-2 FREEWAY —

1) MILILANI TO WAIPIO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Lane closures on the H-2 Freeway in the southbound direction between the Mililani Off-Ramp (Exit 5) and the Ka Uka Boulevard Overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for bridge joint repair.

  •    One lane closed from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. ·        Two lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. ·        Three lanes closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY —

1) FORT SHAFTER (WEEKEND WORK) Left lane closure on the Fort Shafter/King Street Off-Ramp of the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the eastbound direction on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. for roadside maintenance.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

1) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Two lanes closed on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and the Kamehameha Highway Overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. 2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the rail project. 3) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway on Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Friday morning, Aug. 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the rail project. — KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

1) WAIMANALO (WEEKEND WORK) Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the eastbound direction between Kanapuu Drive and Flamingo Street on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming.


— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

1) KAAAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 24/7 lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for emergency shoreline improvements.  Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.  Motorists are advised to expect delays.

2) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations. ·        24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road. ·        24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road. ·        24/7 lane closures in both directions between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street. ·        Lane closures in the westbound direction between Pali Momi Street and Honomanu Street, Monday through Friday. ·        Lane closures in both directions between Puu Poni Street and Kaonohi Street, Monday through Friday. ·        Lane closures in the westbound direction between Salt Lake Boulevard and Honomanu Street, Sunday through Friday. — NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

1) SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Two left lanes closed on Nimitz Highway in the westbound direction between Aolele Street and Elliott Street from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 10, as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.


— PALI HIGHWAY —

1) NUUANU (WEEKEND WORK) Lane closure on the Pali Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for guardrail repairs and drain maintenance.


— MIDDLE STREET —

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) Alternating lane closure on Middle Street in the southbound direction between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, Aug. 7, through Saturday morning, Aug. 8, and Monday night, Aug. 10, through Saturday morning, Aug. 15, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project. There will also be a 24/7 southbound lane closure and sidewalk closure on the west side of Middle Street. Signage will be posted instructing pedestrians to use the east sidewalk.
