I ate at Eli’s Kitchen in Maili (located below Crawfish & Crab Shack) and it was authentic and very pleasant. The dishes are served in individual bowls, like how they serve food at Ono’s on Kapahulu Ave., Helena’s, etc. The owners are heavily involved in the Hawaiian immersion community, so ‘olelo Hawaii is promoted and perpetuated there. I recommend the squid luau, pipikaula, and purple sweet potatoe dessert, among other things. Check it out!
