The following free events will be held in April at the Wai’anae Public Library at 85-625 Farrington Highway.

Saturday Storytime: Saturdays at 10:30 am

Stories, songs, games, simple arts and crafts. Recommended for ages 0-5, and their caregivers:

AARP Free Tax-Aide
Waianae Public Library will host the AARP Tax-Aide, a free tax preparation service beginning on February 2 – April 14, 2016 from 9:00 am-12:30 pm. This service is unavailable on March 10th. The AARP volunteers are IRS-certified and this service is free to all taxpayers, first come, first served.

Getting to Know Hawaii’s Sea Turtles: Saturday, April 16, 2:00 p.m.

Conservation biologist Irene Kelly is dedicated to the recovery of Hawaii’s protected marine species. As the regional Sea Turtle Recovery Coordinator at NOAA she works on conservation and management challenges. Join your fellow community residents and get to know our local sea turtle population.

Book Club: Wednesday, April 20, 6:00 pm

Dragonfish: a novel by Vu Tran. Maureen Corrigan, book reviewer for NPR Fresh Air, says about Vu Tran’s 2015 debut novel: “A superb debut novel…that takes the noir basics and infuses them with the bitters of loss and isolation peculiar to the refugee and immigrant tale.”
