Senator Maile Shimabukuro: Congratulations to Wai’anae’s Max Holloway, the new, undisputed UFC Featherweight Champion, and Wai’ane’s Yancy Medeiros, who defeated Erick Silva on 3 June 2017, on the same UFC 21 fight card. We’re so proud of both of you. You have brought the eyes of the world to Hawai’i and the West Side of Oahu with your accomplishments. Your work ethic, character, and success are an inspiration to the entire state, especially to the young people of Wai’anae. Kulia i ka nu’u.
